Hypnotherapy Workshop Details

What are the benefits of becoming a hypnotist?
The rewards of using hypnosis are difficult to measure. When I first began my practice, I found it exhilarating to be able to help, in only a few sessions, a client who’d been trying to break a bad habit for years. In those days, the financial rewards allowed me to own a new car, an airplane, and go on vacations I could only dream of previously.

How much money does a hypnotherapist make?
That depends on how much time you want to put into the business. Working part-time, one can earn between $400 and $1,000 a month. A full-time hypnotherapist can earn a comfortable living. Many therapists, as with professional counselors, use a room their own home in order to keep expenses low.

How many sessions will my clients need?
This always depends on the client’s problem and motivation. To stop smoking, it might take between 3 and 6 sessions. Modifying one’s eating behavior may require between 5 and 10 sessions. A case of insomnia can often be resolved in 4 sessions.
The average is 4 – 6 sessions. Let’s say you start with only 6 clients your first month.  Each visits once a week. That’s 6 X 4 X $85 a session, or $2,040 a month. Would that be enough to start?

 What problems can hypnosis resolve?
I impress upon every student that hypnosis is a state of mind where therapy takes place. Hypnosis, in itself, is not therapy.
Hypnotherapy can help willing clients stop smoking, lose or gain weight, sleep better, alleviate pain, experience painless childbirth, eliminate nail biting and fear of driving or flying. It also helps to overcome one’s fear of needles.

How long are the training courses?
The basic course is 48 hours. It normally runs from Saturday through Thursday. I will hold the workshop over two 3-day weekends. I also conduct a 2-day workshop for professional therapists who have a basic knowledge of hypnosis and wish to earn continuing education credits.

Will I be certified when I finish the training?
Certification is frequently promised by schools without explanation. First, no State has any exam – similar to a nurse’s exam or a pest control operator’s – whereby one can become ‘state-certified’. The only certification a student will receive from any school is a certificate of completion.
If a school claims that you can be certified, ask them, “What State agency provides that certification?” Their answer can only be, “None.”

What subjects are covered in the basic course?
The 48-hour workshop includes:
Obtaining and recognizing trance depth; anchoring: age-regression; finger signals; metaphors and stories; working with difficult client; 13 unique induction technique; pacing and leading; Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic inductions; and operating a hypnotherapy business

How much is the tuition? And, what is included?
Tuition is $795.00. There are no other fees. Payment must be made in full, at least ten (10) days prior to the first day of class. Classes begin on time. Your tuition includes all handouts, a 93-minute DVD demonstrating six different inductions and 5 hypnosis CDs.

Are there any dangers in using hypnosis?
In all my years of practice and as an instructor, I’ve never uncovered one incident that may be considered dangerous. No one has found in any book on this subject, a verifiable claim that hypnosis has been proven to be dangerous.
In truth, hypnosis is nothing more than suggestion, given while the mind is focused and uninfluenced by outside distractions.
In my workshops, I cover most of the misconceptions about, hypnosis. You will not be caught off-guard by the client who may ask about its alleged dangers.

Do I need a professional degree to take this training?
No. In fact, the best hypnotherapists seem to be those without a background heavily influenced by psychology. As a teacher, I encourage licensed counselors to ‘set aside’ his or her academic training in order to more readily grasp the simplicity of hypnosis. Those most successful with hypnosis have an innate understanding of human nature and great empathy for helping others.
If you like people, you’ll love being a hypnotherapist. Students holding only a high school diploma are some of the best in this field. As my student, you’re taught how to recognize potential problems and to stay within your realm of expertise. Your work will be centered on habit modification and teaching self-hypnosis.

What are the instructor’s qualifications?
Due to a lack of practical information on the how-to’s of hypnosis, Bob wrote his training manual, Clinical HypnosisTheory, Principles and Practical Applications. Published in 2005, it includes case histories, word-for-word scripts, a comprehensive history of hypnosis, and dozens of advanced techniques.
Bob is an approved provider of continuing education by the California Boards of Behavioral Science Examiners and Registered Nursing. Few today can match Bob’s 44 years of experience.

Where are these workshops held?
Most workshops are held in California, in meeting rooms, convention centers or universities. That said, I will hold the training anywhere with a minimum attendance of 12 students.
